Pinterest is pretty cool. I know because I have never really been on it. I am actually not sure how it works? I see pin it buttons on everything and I am kind of scared what will happen if I push them. Like, maybe the techy world already knows way too much about me and I am scared to give them anymore info to work with because nothing in my life will remain a mystery. Also, my house is in a constant state of disarray, but you only see that if I let you in the door. (But I most likely will let you in anyway.) Anyone can see my pinterest page, and as long as it is blank, I keep it clean. I think it is cool in theory, and I even have an account that I have never done anything with...so to all of you who are supposedly following me on pinterest according to facebook, you are out of luck if you are looking for anything cool from me.
....for the record, I am always very slow to jump in on any new trend.....it always takes me a few years, and then everyone else gives it up be then.....
The way I pinterest is every week on ksl.com, some reporter checks out a couple of ideas floating around pinterest and then posts her results. She did one this past week on some of the laundry tips she had found.
Well, I have there boys with lots of dirty socks and I have dingy looking white unmentionables that were in serious need of brightening. I had tried a few things, but always came out with mediocre results. I read this article and decided to give it one last shot. I used some items that were scheduled for the garbage anyway, due to their grayish appearance.
Here is the original post: Here. It is basically a 1:1 ration of bleach and dishwashing detergent, and water. I made my water pretty hot and then stuck some whites in the bucket. She suggested using a glass bowl, but I only had a bucket, so that is what I used. I let them soak for an hour and then dumped everything in the wash with some other whites. I was amazed when even my dingiest items came out sparkling white! You should try it! I can't wait to do all my whites asap! Thank you ksl reporter who scours pinterest for me!!

Thanks for the tips! I don't even have a pinterest account, so you're a step ahead of me. I'll let you scour the ksl reporter's tips and pass them along to me. :) Thanks!
Ha ha ha! I love you, Laurie. You're hilarious. The funny thing about Pinterest is that I rarely try the stuff I pin unless someone I know personally has already tried it and can vouch for it. :) So, I guess now I'll try whitening my not-so-whites. :D Thanks!
So funny! I've only got a toe on the band wagon right now. There is just not any time in the day to do random searches and pins of things I'm not doing right now. I've pinned a few things I wanted to remember where the instructions were for our summer crafts we've been doing and for a birthday party we had which was very helpful rather than trying to find which email I put the website link in or which random file on my computer I saved it to. But I think I would like it better if it was not an online filing system where my stuff would be viewed by everyone. Maybe they have something like that and I don't know it! Anyway...this was way too long of a comment...but I will definitely try your whitening idea. It must really be awesome for you to write about it after your super funny post about pinterest...so I"m very excited!
So nice to know I'm not alone in the world... You voiced my Internet insecurities perfectly! I like that same ksl editorial and have searched pinterest and found some cool ideas, but I just can't make an account and start pinning!
