Fourth of July

Just a random photo of me and Syd cruisin' the neighborhood.
We went on an Independence Day hike up Waterfall Canyon in Ogden.  It was beautiful and hot!!

Cousins:  Zack, Derek, Jordy and Austin
Syd and me taking a little break at the waterfall.
We had a whole crew!  My parents, two brothers, Matt's parents and two sisters and their families.
The boys dunked their heads to keep cool on the way down.
We had a picnic lunch and then raced to catch a movie.  We were all a little smelly and several people fell asleep in the theater...my Dad, Austin and Tara to name a few.  But not Sydney, she was wired and ready to keep going!!

We cleaned up and then had a cookout at my mom's house and then all the cookout guests headed to Matt's parent's home for games and homemade ice cream.  It was a busy, but very fun day.

We ended up spending the night at Matt's parents's house last night.  We had driven two cars up and both of us were tired enough (from lack of sleep the night before...our kids don't sleep that well away from home...)  that we were worried about driving alone.  So we slept over again, Matt woke up bright and early and headed home to get ready for work and the kids and I took our time.  On the way home we decided to go the Zoo in the rain with my sister Tara and her kids and my sister-in-law Elise and baby Sabrina.  It poured rain, but we had so much fun.  The polar bear exhibit was very cool!  We came home tired and soaked and made hot chocolate.  It was a very fun couple of days.  It was good practice for the next week and a half because we have a lot of fun stuff going on:  Seven Peaks, Lagoon, Michael coming to visit and the Lodge to name a few.  We had a nice, lazy summer going on and it just picked up and will keep on going full speed until school starts again.  I think that is how it seems to work for everyone.  Lazy June, Busy July and Crazy busy August.  Happy Independence Day!!

We must have missed the memo for the summer schedule, June was busier than ever, but I think July should be pretty chill (though not temperature wise!). That sounds like a perfect way to spend Independence Day! I'm excited for all your fun adventures ahead this summer! You have lucky kids to have such fun parents! And I love those pics of you and Syd!
