This year for a little get-away, the Sorensen family headed up to Victor, Idaho and rented out "The Lodge," a cabin that belongs to my Grandma and her siblings. We go there every year with my mom's side of the family, but this is the fourth time the Sorensen gane has rented it out. It is so beautiful, it is close to Jackson Hole, rafting, hiking, you name it. We are going back with my family next week.
The local drive-inn, The Spud, had a Mater outside their gate. The boys thought that was pretty cool.
One night, some of the family headed over to Jackson Hole for dinner and a show with the Bar J Wranglers. Derek loved the horses.
Zack fought a bear. Not sure who won.
The gang waiting for dinner. Derek thought it was so fun. He said there were biscuits cooked in a "duck" oven that were so good, he wanted to bring some home for me, but he couldn't.
Funny brothers. They thought the show was hilarious.
Tetons! This is one of my favorite places. It is so beautiful and peaceful and I think I could live there.
Up at Targhee Resort there were a bajillion mosquitos, but is was gorgeous. There was a little trail we followed near a creek and it led us to a massive waterfall. It was awesome. The photos are on our other camera, I will have to add them later.
We went to the drive-inn one night and had a ball. We played football and volleyball on the lawn before the movie started, ate our weight in brownies (maybe that was just me) and took waaaaay too many pictures. In the following "sister picture," Austin is trying to climb onto my lap by way of digging his nails into my shoulder and hoisting himself up. Notice the pained expression on my face. (I forgot to mention that I had the worst sunburn of my life from a little swimming excursion on our way to Victor).
And last but not least, my nephew Spiderman was found climbing the side of the Lodge as we were getting in our cars to head home. We had so much fun, ate good food and relaxed. There were so many things I didn't take photos of but will never forget.....the Amazing Race, the drunk guy sleeping in Mikel's car (no joke), Nerf gun/marshmallow gun war with kids, and so much more!!! Thanks for a great vacation family!!!

what a fun vacation to idaho! It is so lovely there. But i bet those mosquitos are huge if they can survive winter. I went to the bar-J wranglers with my roommates fun. Oh - the times! Bummer about the sunburn. That would stink with kids climbing on you. You guys have such a cute family! Tru liked Sydney during sacrament meeting. :)
That sounds and looks like HEAVEN!
Fun! We were just in Idaho too and got eaten alive by West Yellowstone. I love the Bar J Wranglers! It's been years since I've been there though.
