Day off, Disneyland Day 3

Thursday we took a day off. We had planned on doing a few things that day, but we were all too worn out. The kids were all mostly feeling better, except for coughs, so we just decided to lay low and let them rest all day. Later on we met up with our former neighbors, the McGraths, who ditched our neighborhood for CA. (But we still love them anyway). These two cute baby girls were born just a few months apart.
Derek looks grumpy here, but these cute boys all had a lot of fun together. Thanks for the fun night!!

Day 3 We started the day back in Disneyland, determined to go on all our favorite rides again. Friday was a lot more crowded and we ended up waiting for several rides. Friday was also gorgeous weather, almost hot.

Yes, I wore the same yellow hat three of the days we were there. Getting four kids ready to leave the hotel at 7:30 every morning=the mom puts her wet hair in a ponytail and goes for a hat. Don't judge. :)

Now, by the time the fireworks came around, we were once again, exhausted. I am pretty sure with small kids, you will just always be exhausted at Disneyland. I saved us a spot for the fireworks while everyone else went to see the Mr. Lincoln show on Main Street. Derek and Austin fell asleep during the show and Zack immediately went to sleep on the ground while we were waiting for the fireworks. Three boys, all sleeping, and the fireworks haven't even started yet. Zack woke up in time to see some of the fireworks, Derek and Austin both woke up just before, screaming bloody murder because they had to go to the bathroom. One made it, one didn't. Matt's shorts got the brunt of the accident. Darn. They kids were so grumpy by the time it was over, that we bailed on seeing Fantasmic and headed back to the hotel. Lesson learned, kids need sleep more than firework displays. I will remember that for next time.
All in all, we had a fabulous trip. I am going to write down all the things we learned, would do, would not do and loved for another post, but since this is my fourth post in an hour, I need to get off the computer ASAP. I hear mutiny brewing below decks (i.e. children making their own snacks and knocking over clean piles of laundry.)

Aw. This makes me want to go back and we were there less than 6 months ago! So glad you had a nice time. It sounds like you were able to do a lot of fun things while you were there, but I must agree, sleep is more important than fireworks. :)

Looks like you guys had fun even with a little short's accident, Poor Matt. That what I call making memories right? I love the yellow hat. I didn't notice was the same one until you mentioned it.

I see Matt's mother. Why didn't Matt's dad go? Too busy collecting books or playing in his greenhouse.
