Amoxicillan Wars

Poor sick children. Austin has had an ear infection and we have been fighting to get his medication down him twice a day. He can't really be getting much, based on what he spits back out everytime. Plus the screaming everytime I bring the little syringe anywhere near him. He has been miserable, especially at night. But since we know ear infections well in our little family, it has been too bad compared to some we have seen. Then, last night around 4am Zack woke up crying. He said his tummy hurt and he was hot, he ended up having a fever, so Matt and I took turns sleeping by him the rest of the night. When he woke up this morning, he still didn't feel well, but had never thrown up or anything. He still had a fever and I asked him if anything else hurt and he said his throat hurt so I took him to the doctor. (The nurse there always greets me like an old friend since I am there so often.) Anyway, Zacker has strep throat. He is pretty miserable. He spent most of the day lying in bed watching Peter Pan on the portable DVD player. Derek, meanwhile was having a great day. With Zack out of commission, Derek had free reign of Zack's toys and he couldn't have been more thrilled. His first stop was Zack's pirate ship and then on to the Legos.
On a more exciting note, I registered Zack for kindergarten today. Luckily, I didn't have to cart the kids over to the school with me since Matt worked from home today in order to help out. Thank goodness!! I don't think he really got a lot of work done, but it sure helped me out. Back to kindergarten registration, Zack is so excited for school to start, and I can't believe I have a kid almost ready for school!! I am not ready for him to go, but I am really excited for him!

**NAME THAT MOVIE**
I forgot to mention that while I was entering the school parking lot for K Registration, I was following the arrows painted on the road for pick-up and drop-off, etc. Into my mind popped the line: "South to drop off, Moron!" Anyone? Anyone?

Hey Laur, that's no fun for Zack and Austin. It seems like so much sickness is going around right now. I hope they start feeling better soon. I know how your feeling with Zack starting school soon. It's almost harder for us sometimes to see them grow up. He will have such a good time though.

Sorry about the kids, Laurie. That doesn't sound fun at all! Tis the season for sickness in Utah, isn't it?

That's exciting for Zack. I wish Soren could start preschool. He's not potty-trained, though, and it doesn't look like that will be happening anytime soon.

I can't wait to hear all the fun kindergarten stories!

As you will see from my blog I was in Utah last weekend. I was going to give you a call but it was pretty rushed. Next time I really want to get together with you and Tara!

I love your blog entries.

Oh, sorry about the sick kids- here in PA we just pass on sickness all winter long. Hopefully spring comes to you early and sicknesses end.

And I don't have a clue what movie it is.

The sick bug has just hit our family too. It is not fun and I wish there was some cure-all that I could discover. I wish you luck and feel your pain.

Hey again, so I started reading your last paragraph to Chad to see if he could guess the movie and before I even said the line from the movie he said "Mr Mom." He says he always thinks about that movie whenever he takes or picks up Carson.

Congrats Chad! You got it, the quote was from "Mr. Mom", as a side note, Name that Movie has been a favorite game in my family for years. I hereby declare that I will randomly post name that movie quotes on this here blog. Anyone is able to participate. Prizes may or may not be involved.
