Yes, it is true, we have two birthdays this week! (I actually had the same due date for both boys, Jan. 29!) Derek Steven Sorensen was born January 25, 2006. I was scheduled to be induced that day, after walking around dialated to a 3 for three and a half weeks. I had cleaned the house that morning and as I was vacuuming I thought, wow, my back is so sore. It was time to head to the hospital and my sister called to say she would be a little late getting to our house. She said it was due to traffic, but it was really because she was picking my mom from the airport to surpirse me! I was supposed to be at the hosital sooner than she would get to my house so we called a few neighbors and no one was home! So Matt suggested he would just wait with Zack and meet me at the hospital later. I said, sure, it wasn't like I was in labor or anything. I got the hospital and got all checked in and lo and behold, the nurse tells me I am in labor. I had no idea. So no induction, and Derek was born a few hours later. He weighed 7lbs. 6 oz and had massive amounts of black hair. He was born with the cord wrapped around his neck twice and looped under his arm. The doctor said, "This is a guy who likes to get into dangerous situations! " That doctor had no idea how true that would be. Derek is a a little daredevil and half of the mischief that he gets into is because he thinks he is as big as Zack and can do whatever Zack does.

Another Birthday....

What a cute little guy. I can't believe how big he's getting. He actually reponds when we talk to him on the phone. Man by the time I get back from my mission he'll be 5 years old. Wow, I can't wait to see them again. Thank goodness for the vonage phone.

Wow, another cute little boy. You are going to have your hands full when they are teenagers and you are trying to shoe all the girls away. Happy Birthday Derek! (man, january is a busy month for your fam!)
