St. George

Last Christmas, Matt's parents gave us tickets to Tuacahn as a gift.  We love going to plays and we had never been there before, so we were pumped!  We scheduled the weekend right in between girl's camp and the Lodge and Scout Camp (I think when Matt added it all up, he was gone for 8 weekends all summer?!?!)

Anywho, Matt's wonderful parents took care of the kids and we headed down south for a weekend of fun!  (and heat....wowza....117 degrees at 8 pm?  I was not used to the intense heat.)  We grabbed some lunch on the way down had a nice relaxing drive, talking and laughing without interruptions!  We got to St. George in time to grab some dinner and head over to the theater.  It.was.so.hot.  Wow, I know lots of people live in intense heat, but I was shocked at how hot it was!

The show was great, so much fun.  We saw Beauty and the Beast.  We noticed most people at the show had little bandana-type things that they would wet and wear around their necks.  It looked awesome.  Once our bodies acclimated a bit, it was just fine.  Very sweaty, but just fine!

The next morning we went to the St. George Temple to do a session.  We had never been there before so it was neat to experience a new Temple.  We had hopes of going on a short walk/hike, but we couldn't handle the heat just walking around our hotel perimeter!  After naps and lunch we went to the movies...anywhere with A/C!  Then we met some friends for dinner.  It was so fun to catch up with them!  On the way home the next morning, we stopped for church in Cedar City and we went to the coolest-looking chapel!  We are so thankful for such a great gift!  It was great to get away and spend time together.
