Me and my little peeps. We had a lovely Mother's Day in these parts. Matt brought home some beautiful flowers on Friday. Saturday was a typical busy day with soccer, weeding, clean-up and a date for me and Matthew. It also included a little shopping for sandals for me (intended for Mother's day), but I couldn't find some that I loved. I woke up on Sunday morning to Zack bringing me breakfast in bed. He had gotten up before anyone else. Adorable. The kids all brought in their gifts that they had made at school. Derek was feeling bad because his class didn't make anything, so he made me a card and made my bed. :) Matt also got our new family pictures printed for me, as well as a new frying pan. Sweet! The kids spent the morning cleaning up and getting ready for church, mostly on their own. I made some dessert to take to my in-laws and wrapped the mother's day gifts for our moms.
After church, we headed up to my parent's house to talk to my little missionary brother over skype! It was so fun. Then we went and had dinner at Matt's parent's home. It was a great day and I feel very, very blessed to have been raised by the best mother in the world. Matt also has the best mother in the world, so we are both pretty lucky.
I started a new tradition yesterday. I wrote each of my kids a note about why I love being their mother. It was fun to sit down and think about why each of them is so special. They are the best and I love their craziness. Happy Mother's Day!

Sounds like a wonderful day! You deserve it, you are such a great mom! I love the note to your kids, I wrote in my journal about each of mine. I planned on having a little sit down down individually with them but didn't have time. Sunday's are busy! And I didn't even have mom's to go visit. A note is a good way to do that, thanks for the idea!
