The fifth grade put on a wax museum! Each fifth grader chose an American hero to study and write a report about. They also had to dress as the person and do an oral report. The culmination of the project is a Wax Museum put on by the entire fifth grade. Each classroom of kids is frozen into a wax figure until you push a "button" and they come to life and give you all kinds of facts about their hero. It was so much fun! Of course, Zack did not choose a hero with an easy costume. He chose Benjamin Franklin. I don't sew (without great difficulty) so it took me a while to figure out the costume. Here he is in all his glory.
We decided to go to the wax museum freshly electrocuted. We bought the wig at a costume store, Grandma Sorensen provided the glasses and knee socks. Black vest c/o D.I. Ruffled neckerchief (a ruffled cardigan of mine), black coat (my black rain coat) and church pants tucked into knee socks., slightly singed kite. Zack would not break character no matter how much we teased him. He took it VERY seriously. He did a great job! It was fun to see all the kids we know dressed up and in character. Everyone did such a good job!
