Blue and Gold Banquet 2014

With Primary and my own sons participating in Cub Scouts, I have been to my fair share of Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquets.  But this was the first time I was really involved in the planning as a member of the Cub Committee.  Our theme was cultural diversity and it turned out really well!!  I borrowed flags, maps and globes from friends all over Lehi and used that as the basis of the decor.  I had a World Map on the wall and had people put little sticky arrows on all the places they have visited around the world.  The adult and kid with the most travel experience won a prize.  I also printed out photos of famous sites around the world and the adult and child who successfully identified the most places won prizes.  Each den chose a country and then decorated 3 tables like that country.  All extra tables were decorated "American."  We had hamburgers and hot dogs and lots of side dishes for dinner.  Zack got his final cub scout awards and Derek got his first.  This was the only pack meeting that they overlap in Cub Scouts.  We also had a cake auction to raise money for the cub scouts.  It was so much fun!!  I am glad it is over.  :0

Derek got to carry the flag in the Flag ceremony.  He was proud!
 Skits
Derek pinning the Bobcat award on my shirt.  It took intense concentration.
He doesn't look it, but he was really excited.
Zack was excited that he earned all the of the Webelos activity badges and compass points.
Cool cakes at the auction.  Check out Elmo!
Another cake table.  Ward members were very generous in their cake donations and during the auction.
I made a campfire s'more cake.  It was a mess, but very fun.
 Dump truck cake
A couple of Young Women made the Barbie cake.  And in the back, some oreo cheesecakeish thing that looked really good.
Bears relaxing on the beach!
