Family Update

Quick little family update, May 2013:

Sydney:  Fun, spunky, sweet, cuddly and a tease.
Austin:  Learning to read and so excited about going to Kindergarten.  He is also a tease and a great helper.
Derek:  First grade has been rough, we are not sad to see it gone.  Derek is always up for fun and had grown up a lot this year.  He can't wait to be a Scout and to have a break from school.  He loves to be cuddled and to read with mom and dad.  He is always willing to help and loves to pick flowers in the yard and bring them to me.  Excited to start Coach Pitch.
Zack:  Excited to have a break from school.  Super responsible, has high hopes of me teaching him Spanish and typing this summer  ;)  Zack has tons of end of year projects, programs, etc.  He is a busy kid.  He is having a great soccer season loves being outside. 
Laurie:  trying not to pop.  About four weeks until baby Sorensen makes her debut.  Getting slower and larger every day :)  Excited to have the kids home this summer.  Excited to have a baby. 
Matt:  Working hard as always, gardening and yard work are solely up to him right now (ok, the kids help too, but I have tried a few times recently and it just doesn't work.)  Getting a shed built in our backyard, Scouts always keeps him busy.  Did I mention that he is the new Scoutmaster and that Scout Camp falls the week the baby is due?  Yeah...I laughed and laughed when I found out, because of course!  We have a plan in place and luckily the camp they are going to this year is only about 40 minutes from the hospital.  (Last year, my neighbor's husband was gone with scouts on a rafting trip like 12 hours away.  Luckily, she had the baby right after they got back.)  We are blessed to have many kind fellows in our ward who are willing to attend scout camp this year in a pinch, so that Matt can be home if he needs to be.   Scout camp ends on my due date, so we would really appreciate if she would come a week early or a day late :)  I have no plans to induce this time around, although my doctor has offered.  I said after Sydney was born that I never wanted to be induced again and I am holding firm to that.  It would be super convenient, of course, but Matt won't be too far away and he made sure he got a phone carrier that has service up there.  Always an adventure!  We can't wait to be the Sorensen Seven!
