The poor blog has been ignored for too long. I am hoping to get back in the habit of posting weekly. Here is what is up with us:
Matt: so happy to be feeling better after being cooped up for so long. He is back to work today and I am sure they are keeping him busy. Scouts keeps him busy, but he always finds time to wrestle with the boys and read with them each night. (Let's not forget that he has done the vast majority of housework and child rearing for the past three months. I think he is glad to have me back from months of sick.) He has several home projects he is planning for the year and is excited to take the boys skiing soon.
Laurie: Four and a half months pregnant. The nausea is almost gone and except for the occasional throwing up, I am feeling mostly like myself again. Hurray!! I have plenty of things I want to do after laying in bed for so long, deep clean the house, decorating, sewing, organizing. It feels so good to be back. Excited that our little baby will have 3 cousins within six months of each other (1 is due two weeks before and one a month after). Looking forward to taking the kids to Disneyland in the Fall with Tara's family.
Zack: Is a few weeks away from his tenth birthday. Matt and I are constantly amazed at him. We are pretty sure that he is the most thoughtful, responsible, spiritually minded genius little boy we have ever met. He is growing up way too fast, but is still so sweet and innocent. How did we get a kid so old?
Derek: Is a few weeks away from his seventh birthday. He is so full of personality that it can never be contained. He is hilarious and way too smart for his own good. He is beloved by all the girls in his class and likes to make sure his hair is just right. He is very loving and loves to make his mom happy.
Austin: Austin is five and in preschool. He is a thinker and can be pretty quiet, but is also a tease! He has the best smile and is the brother than anyone in the family can play with. He takes really good care of Sydney and is so excited to ride the bus next year to school.
Sydney: Sydney is growing up. She talks and talks all day long. She is never minds when I have to leave the house without her but when I am home she is glued to my side. She is also a tease and I catch a little glimpse of mischief in her eyes. She has been a dream baby, such a little doll and she is adored by her brothers. She is also getting a little bossy. She likes to keep the brothers in line.
Life is good.
