Kindergarten is Hilarious

I still remember so many of the funny adventures Zack had in Kindergarten.  Now, it is Derek's turn, and he doesn't disappoint!
Derek:  Mom, Summer is the prettiest girl in my class.  She has hair like Sydney's, except her mom fixes it better.  Can you find where they live and have Summer's mom fix your hair?
 ********
Derek:  My teacher knows Mother Goose.
Me:  Oh, yeah?  Did you write your letter to Mother Goose?
Derek:  No, I didn't want to.
Me: Why? Didn't everyone have to?
Derek:  Well, I didn't cause she is ugly and scary looking.
*********
Derek:  Mom, today at school a girl was chasing me.  And she said she loved me, then she didn't.  It was so ridic-u-lus and embarrassing.
Me:  Who was she?
Derek:  I don't know.  She isn't in my class, I just see her on the playground.  But she is reaaally pretty.
Me:  Well, if you don't girls to chase you, just ask them not to.
Derek:  But I like them to chase me!

I instant messaged the last conversation to Matt while he was at work.  This was our conversation:
Me:  Oh boy, I am scared for his teenage years.....
Matt:  I'm scared for 2nd grade.

Derek is so funny and so much fun to be around, and he loves kindergarten.  He loves doing homework and telling me all the kids in his class and who he sits with on the bus, etc.  I am his room mom and I can not wait to get into his classroom and see what goes on in there.

I agree with Derek, Mother Goose is scary looking. :) If Kindergarten was this entertaining in the first four weeks I can't wait to hear the details for the rest! Hope you and your darling family are doing well!

I laughed out loud! These are classic. That is so funny about the pretty girls and chasing stuff. I'm glad we haven't had that going on yet. (Or maybe I just don't hear about it! ha.)
