Car Conversations

Yesterday, after church, we were driving to my grandparent's house. I takes about an hour and twenty minutes to get there. Sydney and Austin had immediately gone to sleep and the boys in the back were talking about the apostles, or "impostles" as Derek calls them. They had learned a little bit about them in Primary that day.

After a few minutes, Matt and I hear Zack give Derek an interview. It goes like this:

Z: Derek, do you love you mom and dad?
D: Yes.
Z: Derek, do you read your scriptures?
D: When mom reads them to me, I can't read!
Z: Are you nice to your brothers?
D: ......(a very long pause)....No.
Z: Thank you for being honest.
Z: Are you honest?
D: What's honest?
Z: It means you don't tell lies.
D: I told a lie once

Then the questioning turned more into an interrogation, Zack started asking question he already knew the answer to, trying to get a "confession" out of Derek.

Z: Do you mess up your brother's room?
D: Yes.
Z: Do you steal your brother's toys?
D: Yes.

I think is when we put a stop to it, before then we had been laughing too hard to do much.

That is so funny!! I want to listen in on your family for one day. I'm sure I'd be entertained the entire time. Your boys are just so cute. *
