Things have just been busy around here. Lots of sickness, still haven't gotten my van fixed from the accident in August (I am taking it in tomorrow, at last!) Jamison put his mission papers in, and the Mother's Without Borders Boutique is fast approaching. Did I not tell you about this? It may have slipped my mind.
So a few months ago, Tara met a woman who works with Mothers Without Borders. They have an annual boutique every fall and this woman asked Tara if she would help out. Tara said okey dokey and when the woman asked if Tara knew anyone else who could help out, Tara said she knew just who to call. (Me!) So, along with Tara's friend, (and my friend now) Joni, we have been making plans for a children' corner at the boutique. We sell gently used books, and all kinds of fun kid things. (I will have to get a photo of the awesome wooden blocks my very talented cousin, Diana, designed for us). The boutique is two days in November, the 6 and 7 at the Chantilly Mansion in Layton. There are all kinds of amazing things from Africa and all the money goes back to benefit the children in Zambia. (Please check out the website, I can not possibly explain what an amazing organization this is!) When Tara asked me to be involved, I was so excited! Last Fall was really insane, with all my little brother Jame's surgeries, we spent weeks and weeks at the hospital with him. I was really looking forward to a nice, calm Fall season.
And then I found out that we would be going to Uruguay for Thanksgiving. Wahoo!! Still good, I can handle a two week trip. Just a little bit of scheduling and early Christmas shopping, and it would all work. And just after that I was told that the RS Presidency was being released after 2+ years. We were all sad, but also, more free time!!!
And then, and then, I was called as the new Primary President in my ward. I am so excited about this calling and have been having a great time with it, there is just a lot to do before the end of the year and before I head to Uruguay. It was quite a surprise to me. More like getting hit over the head with a board or something. Still a fun, not quite relaxing Fall, except for the fact that I have mostly been down on the couch for the past 6+ weeks because 3 days before I was called to the Primary, we found out that a new little Sorensen will be coming to our home in mid-May. Yes, it is true! We are so excited but I would be lying if I said I wasn't a teensy bit overwhelmed. The boys are thrilled and can't wait to find out if it is another brother or a sister. I just don't worry about things like food and laundry until someone asks for a sandwich or where their church pants are and we are all doing just fine.
Life is so good and surprising and challenging and I am really grateful that my kids are happy to watch tv all day and eat ramen noodles three times a week right now. :) Exciting and crazy times are ahead, I am sure of it!
**Edited to add that I am not deathly ill by any means. I feel fairly lucky as far as pregnancy sickness goes. I almost never throw up, I just feel queasy, it is mostly complete exhaustion and laziness that keeps me on the couch. :)
