Lots of random things...

This past Monday was our 8 year anniversary. How time flies. We had a wonderful day of me having a raging sore throat and falling asleep watching 24. As Matt said later, "How on earth can you sleep through this show?!!?" I was tired and sick. Luckily, it wasn't a total bummer. We were able to get away for a night the weekend before. That may be only the second or third time in six years that I have slept all night long without interruption! Thank you, thank you, mom and James for taking care of the kids! (We put mom on a plane back to Urugauy on Sunday).

On Saturday, when we came home, we started preparing for the Cousin Party. I invited all my cousins who live remotely nearby and we had dinner and played games and talked about all the fun we had as kids. Although not everyone could come, we had so much fun and we all want to do it again soon.

And the most exciting news....I now have a manny!! (Man + Nanny) You may recall my little brother who had to drop out of BYU because of his flag football injuries. After a couple surgeries and getting out of the hospital 3 days before Christmas, he is not quite healed enough for school this semester. So, he has moved in with us until he is healthy. I must say it is quite fun having him around. Although he can't do a whole lot yet, he is great with the dishes and can supervise the older kids if Austin isn't around. (he can't lift anything yet.) He will be here a few months. He has a doctor's appt. tomrrow, it will be good to hear what the DR. has to say about his progress, kind of give us an idea of how well he is doing.

On that same note, it was so fun to spend Christmas with my mom. Even though she had to come for scary reasons, we have been able to see her twice since September. But my dad and Michael and the missionaries all missed her a ton, so I think she is glad to be home. Thanks for all your help mom, with James and the kids and deep cleaning my house and doing all the jobs I never have time to do! I will have to keep it up. Thank goodness I now have a Manny! I am tryng to think of a theme song for him. ( All I can come up with is changing the words to the Fran Drescher Nanny theme song. )

It feels like life is finally settling down and we can get back into a routine now. Thank you everyone who helped us so much when we were spending everyday at the hospital. (before my mom came back). My brother Chris and I were listing all the blessings that we had noticed since James had been in the hospital and the list was truly amazing. Thank you thank you thank you for your love and prayers.

What a lovely post! So fun to hear about all that is happening around your house. Even though we only live 2 seconds away from each other, it is like we are living on different planets because we are in different wards. Only in Utah! I want a Manny too! :)

I'm thinking more along the lines of the theme song to Charles In Charge. I don't know...maybe that one will work...try it...???

There is actually a handy manny song on Disney channel- that might be perfect for a theme song.
