So I have taken a little blogging hiatus due to the fact that I started going to an aerobics class and running and therefore have no free time. Plus, things have just been busy busy busy. Here are some fun stories from the past week:
*We went to story time at the local library and found instead that the high school was putting on a puppet show. It was really pretty lame, but the kids, even Derek, loved it. At one point they asked all the kids to get up and dance and Zack just went to town, boogeying away, not at all aware of the kids he was knocking over as he jumped around. Derek kept shouting, again! again! when the puppet show had ended. It was pretty fun.
*I forgot to mention that on the way to the library we had an adventure. There were no parking spaces due to the puppet show and so we had to park across the street. I usually bring the stroller but I didn't because I was planning on going to Costco after and wouldn't have room for the gigantic boxes of diapers and the stroller. So I grab Austin's carrier, Derek's hand and Zack is carrying a grocery sack full of library books to be returned. We get to the library entrance, actually we were standing in a handicapped parking spot when Derek freaked out. He started shouting "No library! NO LIBRARY!" and refused to budge. I was trying to maneuver the carrier so I could pick up a fit-throwing two-year old when I see an elderly woman decide to park right where we were standing. She was very patient as I tried to wrestle Derek and Austin onto the sidewalk when the bag full of books split open and books tumbled all over the place. She just sat in her car while I gathered them up and and wrangled all the children onto the sidewalk. (Note to self: Never leave the house without the stroller, ever again.) She very nicely held the door open for us, even though she was laughing at us. (When I say us I mean me.) She said as I passed through the door, "Did you say you have your hands full?" I just started laughing and she offered to take our books in for us. Matt thought the story was hilarious.
*Last night we were outside, it has finally been nice weather, and Zack says, "hey, look! I made a hopscotch." And he had. I asked him where he learned about hopscotch and he said he had seen it on tv. How sad that my children learn about hopscotch from television. He had put his name and some number underneath his hopscotch squares. Matt asked him what they were for and he said it was his phone number (he doesn't know our phone number by the way) and name so that people would know which Zack made the hopscotch.
I have a whole batch of stories to write down, but they will have to wait, busy week has past and an even more busy week is coming, so I have to run. These crazy kids crack me up.

Hey there! Yes, Pres. Wilcox used to be heavily involved with EFY.
Your kids are hilarious!
I love your stories, Laurie, and I can't wait to hear more. How do you remember them when it comes time to write them down, though? If I don't write keywords somewhere right when it happens, I don't remember.
I don't ever leave the house without my stroller either. I have to have some way to contain at least one child if I have to. :) You're brave.
Zack is funny. Can I commission him to make a hopscotch for me with my number under it? :)
P.S. No more blog hiatus'! Those are not allowed. :)
Great stories. Daily events in a mother's life that would be lost in the rage if it weren't for recording them for posterity.
