The Neanderthal Brothers

Derek learned a new word today: boogers. During lunch today I made both boys tuck dish towels into their shirts to keep the ketchup mess minimal. I was putting the finishing touches on the quesadillas when Zack said, "Hey Mom! When I wipe my nose on the dish towel it turns shiny!!" Ew. "Zack," I said, "it turns shiny because boogers are shiny." "I don't have boogers Mom!" says Zack, all offended. I beg to differ. To which Derek replied while holding on to his nose, "Boogers!!" I told Matt, (who was home today) that every now and then I feel like I am raising Neanderthals. He said, "No, just boys." :)

Oh seriously, I feel the same way sometimes! I feel like I can wrestle and burp much better than I can cook or sew. It's sad. Oh well, hopefully God will give me back my more feminine qualities in the next life. :)

I have a little girl who talks the same way. Are we doomed?
