At a glance

I am not sure if I have ever gone a whole month without posting anything?  We have been busy and busy and busy, just like everyone else.  Here are some catch-up bullet points so you don't have to read a horrendously long post:

*Halloween is always fun.  We had a repeat of Zackula, a cowboy, a repeat Batman and a BYU cheerleader.  (So cute!!)

*We hauled all the kids to another BYU football game along with Matt's parents and Jen and Chad and their kids

*The Primary Program...always so much work, but it turned out wonderfully and it is such a relief to have it done.  We have a primary that is 200+ and they were packed in like sardines.

*Matt's (formerly my) CRV decided it had had enough of serving the Sorensen family and was requesting more TLC than we were willing to put into it.  Matt was thrilled to buy  himself a Tacoma.  Now that we have a truck, I feel like we have some Lehi street cred.  :)

*Derek has finally started to get the hang of reading.  It has been a loooong process and mostly thanks to his awesome dad, Derek is finally getting comfortable with books.

*Thanksgiving was lovely.  We had a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with the Peterson family and then spent Thanksgiving day with the Sorensen extended family.  It was so fun to see so many relatives and of course eat delicious food.  There are different dishes I look forward to from the different sides of the family.  Peterson side:  Mom's brown sugar rolls, stuffed mushrooms and potatoes and gravy.  On the Sorensen side:  Laurie's ham, Marie's dressing and the caramel popcorn.  Yum.  We spent the night at my parent's house and it turned into a cousin sleepover.  The next morning, my parents took everyone to see Wreck-it Ralph.  My grandparents came as well and I couldn't help but think how awesome it is that my kids know and love their great-grandparents and that my grandparents are healthy and willing to make time to be with their great grand kids.  My entire family of munchkins went to bed around 7:30 pm on Friday night.  We were wiped out.

*Sydney is potty-trained, hurray!  She initiated it and did great.  Girls are MUCH easier to train than boys!  She started  back in September and very quickly got the hang of it.  Hurray for no diapers!

*But wait!  Diapers will be making a comeback in June of this year along with Sorensen baby #5!  The sickness is starting to let up...I hope.  I was sick with Sydney but just a little queasy with the boys.  This was the most awful I have ever felt.  Thanks to Zofran and Matt I was able to not be completely miserable all the time, although my house still looks like a bomb hit it.   I have watched more movies and read more blogs in the last 6 weeks than I ever have in my life.  I am hoping to be fully recovered in a another week or two.  We are very excited and the kids are thrilled.

That is the Sorensen family at a glance...

A baby! How exciting for you and the family! And a great excuse for not posting. Pregnancy sick is the worst, I'm so sorry. H

CONGRATULATIONS, LAURIE & CO.!!! That is such exciting news! Kids, kids, and more kids!! You and Tara have been keeping up with each other so far, why not again, right?! :D Is it weird that a little (and I DO mean little) part of me is jealous even though I have a five-month-old baby?! I must be nuts. I hope you're feeling mucho mejor these days! Can't wait to see Sorensen baby #5!

Hooray for number 5! How bout I'll come over, you hold my baby (for practice...) and I'll clean. It takes two people to get anything done.

Congrats on the pregnancy! That is so exciting! And wonderful not to have two kiddos in diapers. I am quickly learning potty training is awful! Hopefully my boy is harder than my girl too.
