This morning, I was slow to wake up. Derek came into my room and said, "mom you don't have to make me breakfast. I already ate cereal." "Great!" I said.
A few minutes later, I was cuddling with Sydney when he came back to have me help him tie his shoes. Apparently, no one ties them as tight as me. :) As I am using my muscles to tie them super tight, he says, "mom, how come you won't let us eat sugar cereal on a school day?"
"Because it doesn't fill you up and you won't learn."
"Oh,"says Derek.
"Why?" I ask, suspicious. "Did you have sugar cereal for breakfast?"
"No, but the sugar cereal tempted me."
:) :) :)

Ha ha ha! Your kids are awesome. I am often tempted by things I know aren't great for me, too. I'm right there with you, Derek buddy! :D
Oh that is so cute! What an awesome kid. We don't have sugar cereal on school days either. We just call them Saturday cereal and that makes it special. :)
