The kids crack me up on a daily basis. Remember Austin and the elves? Well, he is a deep thinker. He thinks something over and only comes to me with it if it starts to worry him. A few days ago he came into the kitchen covering his face up. I could tell he was trying hard not to cry. I asked what was wrong and he says, "nothing." I know it is not nothing so I sit down with him and finally he blurts out, "If I do something wrong, will I get destroyed off the earth?" Then the tears started to fall. He said that someone in his class at church told him that. We discussed repentance and he still wanted to know who will get destroyed off the earth. So I told him only the really bad guys, but we are good guys and if we follow Jesus we will be okay. That seemed to relieve him a bit.
We were driving to pick up my car from the repair shop and Derek all of the sudden blurts out, "It is so weird that Jesus is the bread of life. And if we eat it we will never be hungry. What does that even mean?" Matt explained it to him and helped ease his confusion.
A couple of days ago I went for a bathroom break. I always lock the door or Sydney will join me. She follows me everywhere, so I have to be quick to get into the bathroom alone. I made it in and turned the lock. I hear her run into the bathroom and try the doorknob. When it didn't turn she knocked on the door and then said, "There is nobody home!" and ran back out laughing. She thinks she is pretty funny. I love these kids!

Oh, they are funny! I saw your mom and dad when we came to UT for the funeral. It was nice to see them... we'll definitely have to get together next time we're there for a visit!
Sometimes I get into the bathroom just because I want to see Edward's hand trying to rich me under the door ;)
Their funny cute little things are what keep me going.
