The One About the Yard

We work in the yard. A lot. We moved in to this house on June 10, 2006. We immediately brought in loads of dirt, put in the sprinkler system, curbed the front and put sod in front and hydroseed in back.
The freshly hydroseeded backyard. We spent all fall battling the deer who tracked through and killed little baby grass and left empty spots all over.
The next year, we didn't do too much other than growing an amazing amount of tomatoes. Oh, we built a retaining wall on one side of the house and planted raspberries and killed a peach tree. This year however, we have planted like crazy, several trees, lots and lots and lots of bushes and lots of flowers. We still have bulbs to plant and some more little "filler" bushes to put in and of course we are going to try peach trees again. But it has been fun to see it begin to take shape. In 15+ years it will be awesome! :)
Yeah, I know that is a lot of grassy area. That is because that is where the volleyball net goes. :)

This last one I found while I was looking for photos. We brought in so many truckloads of dirt, I can't even remember how many, but we had fun jumping from dirt pile to dirt pile. Look at cute little three-year old Zack!!

Liz, gracias. We 100% bought this house because of the lot size. Matt can't wait til the boys are old enough to mow. :)

How cute are you to jump in the dirt piles with your kids. I don't know that I would be so daring. What a fun mommy!
