We woke up bright and early Monday morning and drove up North to have breakfast with Matt's parents. Then we headed to the North Ogden Cemetery to visit graves and visit Matt's dad's side of the family.
Matt's grandparent's graves. His grandpa passed away when Matt was around 14, his Grandma passed away while he was serving his mission.
Matt's Aunt Kathleen had some cool stories to tell. This guy here, joined the church in New York with his wife and moved to Utah. After ten kids, they divorce and she married his brother. Talk about awkward family reunions! The stories Matt heard, got him super interested in family history and he spent a lot of the rest of the day looking things up online and finding stories.
Cute Sorensen girl cousins, Ellie, Lily and Sydney. Derek photo bombing in the the back. We are missing Syd's best buddy Olivia, though.
After North Ogden we went to the Ogden Cemetery to visit Matt's maternal grandparent's graves. We drove by the house where my father in law grew up and Matt showed the kids some areas of Ogden that he had frequented as a kid.
Next up we headed to my parent's house where we had a birthday (for Sydney, Tara, David)/MBA graduation (David) and cancer free (Tara) celebration. We got to visit with my grandparents and some of my aunts and uncles who stopped by.
We headed home and Matt worked in the yard and played catch with the kids while I tried to finish up a costume that Zack needed for school the next day. We all fell into bed exhausted after a full and fun day.
