Tragedy

This would be my five-year old peach tree.  Split right down the middle of the trunk.
See all those peaches?  Oh!  The devastation around here  :(
The other side loaded with peaches.  Horrible.  This was the first year we were set to get a A LOT of peaches.  They didn't freeze, or get blown off in the wind.  We were excited.  The peaches were still a week or so away from being ready.  One day we were out working in the garden, the next morning the peach tree was gone.  If Matt was capable of producing tears, I think he might have cried.  (That is not me being sarcastic, he really does have a dry eye condition and he physically can not produce any tears or even lubricant tears for his eyes.  He has some weird implants in his tear ducts to help, but they don't really help.)

I think we are just going to leave the peaches for a few days to see if they ripen up a tiny bit more and then just pick them all and see which ones are use-able.  So sad.  On a happier note, the rest of my garden looks like this:
And this:  (yes, there are about 40 tomato plants there, see all those raspberries in the back?)
 And this:
I love my yard.

OK, first of all, you have the most beautiful yard I've seen in a LONG time! I am tremendously jealous of all that. Second, I would have cried over that peach tree too! SO sad! Hope you get some good ones at least.
