In Dreams

I know a lot of people have really crazy dreams when they are pregnant.  I have fairly vivid dreams when I am not pregnant and so pregnancy-induced dreams can be pretty trippy.  Here are my two most interesting during this pregnancy.

1.  This was about two weeks ago.  I was dreaming that I was just having a regular day when all of the sudden my water broke.  I called Matt at work and he came home and we headed to the hospital.  We went through the process of finding a babysitter for our other kids, calling family, etc.  (Traditionally, once my water breaks, the baby comes pretty fast.)  We were so excited.  We got to the hospital and they told me my water had not broken, I had peed my pants.  Bummer.

2.  This one happened about two months ago and is a little more disturbing than false labor.  I was at home and I was looking at my big, pregnant belly, watching the baby move around.  One of her little hands started to push against my skin and I could see the outline.  I put my hand up to her hand and all of the sudden, through my skin, she grabbed my finger!  I was so surprised I yelped.  I looked down and all of the sudden, she starts trying to push her way straight out of my stomach.  My stomach started stretching like bread dough, getting thinner and thinner as more of her body started to push outward.  There was no opening for her to come out, my skin just kept stretching and stretching.  I screamed for Matt to come help me.  Pretty soon her entire body was outside of mine, but still encased in my skin.  I was holding her in my arms with disgusting bread dough skin everywhere.  I could see her face and her features perfectly.  Matt tried to help me push her back in but she kept twisting her feet in a way that wouldn't allow us to push her back in all the way.  I was freaking out, at that point she was still a good 10 weeks away from her due date.  I woke up very disturbed.  It was so real.  Holy cow.

Luckily, I guess, I am not sleeping very well anymore so the dreams have been few and far between the last few weeks.  Ahhh....pregnancy is so strange sometimes.
