The One About Dessert

I have a sweet tooth.  I love treats.  However, I am very picky about my treats.  My two criteria for treats are that it must involve fruit or chocolate, or both.  I will not waste my taste buds on anything....vanilla.  Or white chocolate...blech.

Just because I am sure you are dying to know, this is my criteria for treats:  (and because I am trying to delay doing the things I need to do today as long as possible)

Candy
Candy that has no chocolate is not even on my radar.  Skittles, starburst, smarties...etc I won't touch.  Candy must have chocolate.  But not chocolate and peanut butter...blech.  I might take a bite, but I never like it.

Ice Cream
I am a little mixed on ice cream.  I don't love it.  I do like anything covered in hot fudge, but chocolate ice cream is a little too much for me, so I usually prefer sherbet.

Cookies
I love cookies....if they have chocolate.  No snickerdoodles for me!  A cookie is not worth eating, in my opinion, unless there is chocolate in there...preferably semi-sweet.  Oatmeal chocolate chip are my favorite.

Cake and Pie
This is where I get really picky.  I do not like vanilla frosting.  I  like white cake as long as it has some serious fresh fruit on top, otherwise, no.  Favorite fruit flavors are lemon and berry.

I never have a problem finding a treat to make me happy, however....my poor husband loves rice krispy treats.  Me....not so much.  I think I have made rice krispy treats 3 times over our nearly twelve year marriage. (I won't try and add up the pans of brownies I have made.)  The thing is, he isn't going to eat a whole batch, I am not going to eat any and only one of my kids likes them.  So I never make them.  Thankfully, Matt has a mom and sisters who fairly often bring rice krispy treats to family parties so Matt can get his fix.  Is anyone else picky about their treats?  Just me?  What do you like?

I am also very picky. I hate store bought cakes and cookies or pies. I love anything baked: cinnamon rolls and thick chewy cookies are at the top of my list. That is one way I stay thin, I only eat something if it is really going to satisfy me. That and working out a ton:)

I agree, store bought baked goods are nasty!

I love you and your dessert style. I agree 99.9% I could totally share something yummy with you sometime. :)

I WISH I was picky about treats... but not so much. :/ I am getting better about not eating a treat if it doesn't do anything for me.

I never liked ice cream before I married Ethan, but he converted me. And now that we live where we can get the best ice cream ever... yikes! I really have to be careful!

What a fun post, I'm curious what was going on to bring this up... ;)

I never did get to put the wall words up in the kitchen that I wanted, maybe someday: If it's not chocolate, it's not worth it.
Down with rice krispie treats. Sticky plywood.

Maybe this is why we got along so well as roommates in college! (Well, that and our shared talent for messy rooms! :)
