Darby Wind Cave

Last week we hiked the Darby Wind Cave near Driggs, Idaho.  It was beautiful!

Our destination....so close, yet so far.
Taking a little break before the final ascent.
 It's getting closer!!
Before the trail goes practically vertical... there is a monument to a Young Women leader and some girls who were killed by lightening on the trail 60 years ago.  We looked the story up online and it was so sad.
The cave entrance.  There was a huge group of Webelo Scouts up there exploring.
Looking out on the valley from the cave entrance.
 So pretty.
Inside the cave.  (I didn't go into the cave...it was pretty sketchy to get up there and I didn't dare carry Sydney up.)

Phew!  We made it!  It was a pretty tough hike, especially the last bit to the cave.  I am so proud of my tough little hikers!!
