Around the House: Summer 2012

I would say that so far, this summer has been excelente.  We have no big trips planned, no siblings getting married, no crazy projects around our house or yard.  It is just nice and chill.  Which I love.  Here is a little list of what we have been up to:

*Matt went to Canada for a week for the second time in about a month.  We survived, but we were so, so, SO glad to get him back home.

*Zack week was a success.  We passed off some Scout requirements, and made plans for a few more.  Helping Zack build the birdhouse just about did me in, though.  Building, creating, craftiness are just not things that I do well.  I could maybe do a little better if I remembered to measure things and learned how to cut a straight line, but, whatever.  He played with friends and requested chocolate chip pancakes, calzones and mint chocolate chip ice cream as some of our menu items for the week.

*Derek week was fun too, however, we accomplished like 0.00001% of the goals we had set for him.  But I think he had a lot of fun!  He also had friends over and really enjoyed being the one who got to always pick a show or a book or a game.  We also met my sister and her kids in SLC to tour the Beehive house and visit Temple Square.  They were very well behaved on the tour, I was impressed.

*Austin week starts today and he is so excited.  His one request is that we set up the bouncer today.

*I went and got a new driver's license last week.  Mine had mysteriously disappeared between D.C. and home.  We searched everywhere and I finally broke down and got a new one on Tuesday last week.  Saturday evening, I was straightening up before bed.  Of course, I found my old license.  It was in a drawer full of pjs.  Bummer.  The photo on the old one was lots better than the new one.  :)

*Some things we are looking forward to are :  Jackson Hole, a few camping trips, Lagoon, cousin camp, parades, hikes and fireworks. We love summer!  Lazy days and busy days, we kind of switch back and forth, but we are loving it.
