This past Monday was an anniversary. The anniversary of a meeting that has turned into nearly twelve years of marriage and four children! (Just to be real, we didn't remember until two days after and then it was as we were falling asleep one night....I think I said something like, I think this is sometime around the anniversary when we met? Do you remember what day it was? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. The next morning I looked it up in my journal to be sure.)
Just a reminder, we met at church, in a Sunday School class for Young Single Adults. The class was fairly new. I was home for summer break, Matt had just graduated from WSU and had moved to Provo to work at Novell. (My parents had moved into his parent's ward the previous summer.) Here is what I recorded in my journal the day we met:
I went to class and sat by this kid I didn't know. We started talking and kind of talked all during Sunday School. His name is Matt Sorensen and he just moved to Provo. He was way cute! He called right after church and asked me out for Saturday, I am way excited!!
A couple of interesting points:
*My aunt Christine, (who seriously know everything that goes on and lived across the street from Matt's parents) was at my house when Matt called....no cell phones back then, he had to call my parent's land line which I am sure would horrify young people today..and was standing in the kitchen next to the phone when Matt called. I got off the phone and she asked who it was and I told her and she said, "Ooooo, he's pretty. And did you know that he makes x amount of money a year?" !??!?
*My mom got really excited and said, "I was praying that you would have a fun romance this summer!"
I think I started laughing because the whole thing was very "Pride and Prejudice"
We met May 21, 2000 and were married January 12, 2001.

Oh my goodness. I love your story! I love how you said that he's "way" cute and you are "way" excited. I say "way" a lot too in my journal.
Wow, I will never forget the day you met. It's Chris's birthday. Match made in heaven. I love it! :)
That definitely sounds like my mother.
