Arches National Park...a quick trip
We needed a little break from Winter, even though it is supposed to be Spring. Everyone knows that there is no such thing as Spring or Autumn in Utah, and if there is, it will only last a week. We were short on time, so we drove to Moab after work on Tuesday and spent the night in a little hotel on Main Street. They had a little pool with a slide and so even though it was 9:30 at night, Matt and the boys jumped in for a little swim.
We woke up early and headed to Arches and had a very full and very fun day. They boys climbed on every rock in their reach, ran around like a bunch of hooligans and yelled as loud as the could to hear their echo. It was a blast. We loved being together as a family, we loved having a picnic, even though we ended up back in the car pretty quick since it became very windy and sand was blowing in our food. We loved laughing and joking and taking silly pictures.
On the way home we stopped at Denny's in Moab and then had a very uneventful drive home (Sydney and Austin slept the whole way home, we were a little worn out.) We got home around 8:30pm and immediately plopped every child into the bathtub and then tucked them in to their beds. They all went right to sleep, even the two who slept for 3 + hours in the car! It was a perfect little trip!
