Oh, I am so excited. We are heading out to Disneyland in a few weeks. I have wanted to take my kids there for a long time. I have great memories of going there as a little girl. The kids are so excited, we have been watching videos of Disneyland tours and talking about which rides we are most excited for. We are all set as far as our hotel and the days we plan on going to Disneyland (three days), I just need to buy the actual passes. However, since I know a lot of you have visited there and/or live or live in the area would anyone be willing to share:
1.Some things not to miss in Disneyland/California Adventure
2. Anything that you felt was a waste of time or your kids didn't care for it
3. Great beaches/parks/historical sites/museums/hikes that you would recommend. We are not planning on going to San Diego or any of the other theme parks around. But I heard there was a Children's Science museum in Anaheim that I wanted to check out and am looking for some other options for us. We are really lucky that Matt's parents are coming with us. That will be a 1:1 ratio of kid to adult!!! If anyone has any great tips or advice, I would appreciate you sharing!

You guys are going to have SO much FUN!! I'm SO jealous! I think it's a good idea that you will be going for 3 days to disneyland/California Adventures. When we went a couple of years ago we spent our first day at DisneyLand, our second day at California Adventures, and our third day mainly back at Disneyland. I know that California Adventures has some new addition since we were there last. We all liked the newer Toy Story Ride in Cal Adventures. The line was usually really long. Maybe try to go on that first thing in the morning when the park opens. You gotta go on Soarin over California too. The Kids really liked the parade there.
Food at Disneyland is so expensive. I'm sure you guys are already planning on bringing water and snacks/lunch with you.
Also when we went last, it was in Feb also. And the first day it rained like crazy at first. I went and bought cheap rain poncho(like the garbage bag type) the night before and took them with us. They saved us and the strollers, etc. The park charges so much for them there.
Carson said he liked everything about disneyland, I can't think of anything right now that we didn't really care for.
I am so excited for you. We are going this summer and I can't wait. You'll have to tell me what you did. Have fun!!
That is so much fun! I have no advice,I have never been there. But Take tons of pictures and post them so we can see how fun you guys have!
Have a fun trip! We went last May and had so much fun. Something I loved was the Baby Center on Mainstreet. It has nice chairs you can sit in to nurse your baby and nice changing tables too (and even tiny nursery sized toilets for little bums). I didn't use it everytime I needed to feed or change the baby, but it was nice to have a clean comfy place to go when I felt like a break.
I am so excited for you guys! We had so much with this fall, I wish we could go again this year. As far as tips, it depends on if your kids are thrill seekers... my boys loved Tower of Terror, Soarin' Over California, and California Screamin' (only my oldest could go on it, but he LOVED it) in California Adventure. The favorite of Disney was Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. The Toy Story Mania ride was closed when we were there, but I've heard that one is awesome. Also, the submarine Finding Nemo is pretty cool, the kids thought it was pretty amazing. My kids were pretty much excited about everything we did (unless they were scared) but rides that had long, slow lines (like Peter Pan and Mr Toad's Wild Ride) were less exciting to them.
We went to Newport Beach, I think. It was nice, not too crowded, but plenty of beach on which to play and no rocks on which to get hurt. The science museum sounds great. We didn't do anything besides Disney pretty much, so I can't help you there.
Have so much fun!!!
