Car Conversations

We have spent a lot of time driving this summer. We bought passes to Lagoon, so we have been going almost weekly, not to mention all the other summer activities that take place around an hour away from our home. I don' t mind at all, and sometimes, (like when I don't have the DVD player turned on) the kids and I have really great conversations. Today, Zack was asking me questions about baptism. Here it goes:

Zack: How come dads and grandpas and uncles are the ones who baptize?
Me: Because they have the Priesthood.
Zack: Oh! I get it. You have to have the Priesthood to baptize! (and then, kind of with awe in his voice) So I get to baptize my son someday?
Me: Yep.
Zack: Can I baptize my grandkids too?
Me: Well, their dad will probably want to baptize them.
Zack: But will I ever get to baptize anyone again?
Me: Sure, on your mission.
Zack: You get to baptize people on your mission? I thought you taught them the Gospel?
Me: Well, first you teach them the Gospel and then when they are ready, they get baptized.
Zack: Mom, you promise I will get to do that?
Me: Well, it depends where you go on your mission. Some places, like where Dad went(Australia), people didn't want to listen to the Gospel. Some great people were baptized, but most people didn't want to be. And where Uncle Chris went on his mission (Brazil) everyone wanted to be baptized, so it just depends where you go.
Zack: (after a few minutes of quiet contemplation) I want to go where there are lots of wicked people.
Me: Oh, yeah, how come?
Zack: Because then I will be like Abinidi and like Dad. I want to be just like my Dad.

* We went up North to pick up Jamison from my grandparents and on the way home, stopped and had a picnic with Tara and her kids at the BEST park ever. All the toys made up a part of a castle and the kids loved every second of it. They were all pretending to be knights. Except Derek was the bad guy and they were running from him. Behind the park is a little wooded trail and we followed it down to the creek and splashed in the water until it was time to head home. We will have to stop there again, it was a blast.*

Who is this kid of yours? Really the things he say should be televised at general conference! What a sweet kid.
