Last night I was hosting a neighborhood ladies game night at my house. It is basically impossible for me to clean anything when all three children are around because, well they are little boys. Anyway, I was going to make Grasshopper bars and Derek really wanted to help. So he helped, while smashing only one egg! and Austin ran amok around the kitchen/family room, since Derek cooking needed my undivided attention. There was chocolate batter EVERYWHERE! I could hear Austin playing and it didn't sound too bad so I left him alone while Derek and I baked. FYI the following destruction occurred in less than ten minutes.
This is what Austin was doing while Derek was cracking eggs and licking the bowl:

Oh my gosh, Laurie! I remember the days. Wow, I can't say I miss all the messes though. Glad you can at least laugh about it. Keep laughing and enjoy cause they grow up way too fast.
Your boys are adorable. So glad we've gotten back in touch.
How fun! It's motherhood:) Thanks for the invite to your blog. It was nice to visit today...I get so busy, I forget how nice it is to see my neigbors!
Motherhood isn't it great!! This always seems to happen especially when we're trying to get ready for something!
I'm excited that you,Tara and the babies get to go to Uruguay. Man- what an experience that will be!
Wow! That is really something! I don't know how your going to keep up with both of them! I love Zack's letter. I think phonetic spelling is the cutest thing ever.
You boys are soooo cute!! It is amazing how quickly messed can be made! Vela is at that same stage - it's a fun one. I love Zack's letter! and I can't believe that Derek is 3! Man time flies!
Classic! Aren't you glad you have evidence. I am going to send you an email my sister-in-law sent me today...it might make you feel better about the messes. Man! I should be taking photos of the trails my kids leave. What a collection we'd have.
hmmm, we have had days like that (today as a matter of fact)! I am actually pretty impressed he got so much done in so little time, that's talent!
