Why I haven't been blogging...

Hello and Happy Holidays!!! Just in case any of you have been wondering if I had completely abandoned blog life, the answer is no. We have had a crazy, busy, interesting few weeks. You may remember from an earlier post that my little brother had been in the hospital and had surgery a few weeks ago. It turned out to be a much bigger deal than we had anticipated. After surgery he just did not recover like he was supposed to and his body just refused to progress.

After three weeks of hospital stay and the Dr. suggesting that he still had several more to go, my mom made the long journey from Uruguay back here to Utah to be with him. She had come back in September when he had his first surgery, but we thought he needed her here again. I was sitting on his lovely hospital bed when she walked into his room. His entire face lit up in the biggest grin I have ever seen. It is true that moms have a magic touch. After being with her for only a few days, everything has changed! He is healing quickly and well and the doctors are optimistic that he will leave the hospital this weekend! He will have to wait a few weeks to see if he will be well enough to head back to BYU in January, but all is well!

Spending everyday for the last three + weeks at the hospital has been a really interesting experience. My awesome sister-in-law Mikel, babysit for me I don't know how many times. (It was very convenient that she lives practically next door to the hospital) Matt did ALL of our Christmas shopping online and I didn't have to think about it once. So many people have blessed our family during this time, with prayers, treats, meals, babysitting, calls, etc. and Jamison's favorite, visits!

My brother Chris and I were the ones with him most of the time and the other day we were talking about all the blessings we have recieved since Jamison has been in the hospital. It was trully an amazing list! So many amazing people have been faithful visitors and made it their mission to keep James' spirits up. We have all become closer as a family and I know that I personally have learned so much about my siblings and their strengths and great attitudes. I love my family! And just a little shout-out to my hubby who never complained ONCE about my being at the hospital so much. James would call late at night and ask me to come even if I had been there just a few hours before. Matt always said, Go, he needs you. Besides the Christmas shopping he also did the jobs around the house that I hate, like mopping the floor and forcing me to go to bed by 9pm. Not to mention getting Zack's homework done (by Zack, not Matt) and visiting James on his way home from work, rigging up webcams for James and my parents, bringing him all kinds of gadgets to keep him entertained....pretty much he is superman. I must say, though, that having my mom here has been fabulous. Now I only go to the hospital every other day and just stop by and say hi. It has been nice to get back into a routine with my little family and have some fun, other than eating donuts and onion rings (the best ones I have ever had) in the hospital cafeteria! We are looking forward to having Jamison here ASAP!!!
