The Baby Shower

Yes, I know I am just a blogging fool today, but this is the last one, I promise! We had a baby shower at my house yesterday for my friend and next door neighbor, Suzanne. Little background here, she just had her second baby, a little "gril" as Zack would say, a week ago. She had had a horrible pregnancy and was told several times that is was very likely that she and the baby would not make it. However, she was able to deliver a healthy little girl, 6 weeks early and they are both doing great. Suzanne is also the RS President in our ward. Everyone really wanted to to do something for her so last Sunday at church we spur-of-the moment decided to have a shower for her. We invited all the women in our ward and neighborhood and the ward we recently split off from. (She was also the RS Pres in that ward). We had tons of people offer to help, bringing food and decorations, etc. We threw it together really fast and it was fantastic! I had asked Suzanne to come over for brunch that morning, telling her we were having a goodbye party for someone in our presidency who is moving. She was so surprised and excited when she realized what was going on! We had over 50 people come with tons of food and gifts. It was quite a party! Thanks to Kymber and Lorena for all the great decorations!
Thanks to Wendy for the beautiful and scrumptious strawberry cakes!
And thanks to Melissa and Kathryn for putting the baby quilt together so quickly. We set up quilting frames and women came and helped us tie this beautiful quilt. It went pretty fast and as soon as it was tied, Kathryn ran home and finished it up and brought it back to the shower so we could all admire it. Everything turned out great, but I was a little worn out by the end, so was Matt who had been confining our kids to the upstairs the whole time. I love having parties!
